I am considered a POC minority and have lived in the LA area. I wanted to research and find data on the health disparities in an area I used to live near. My family works closely with a foster program for German Shepherds. As a Classics major, I’ve been able to explore the brilliant side of humanity through a historical and linguistic lens, and I think that such a perspective is wholly applicable to medicine. Despite all the research I’ve done and how much I love it, that work was honestly one of the most rewarding experiences of my college career.
