This collection showcases artwork created by Lewis & Clark College Senior Studio Art Majors, from 1993-present. Through collaboration with the Watzek Library’s Digital Initiatives , the Department of Art, and the Ronna and Eric Hoffman Gallery of Contemporary Art, students complete a body of work throughout their senior year at Lewis & Clark College, culminating in the Senior Exhibition at the Ronna and Eric Hoffman Gallery of Contemporary Art. Opened in 1997, the Gallery gives a formalized venue and culminating experience to a year of reflective creative work.
I learned early on that there is no typical workday as the Manager of Public Engagement and Facilities at Museum of Contemporary Craft. Many things fall under my purview, including management of our volunteer program, scheduling tours, providing administrative support for our director, fixing things that break, and so on.
Hemann’s new three-dimensional underwater exhibit, Tidepools, can be found on Concourse D, home to international flights, including those to and from Narita, Japan. The setting is appropriate as Tidepools is dedicated to those affected by the 2011 Japan earthquake and tsunami.
Thousands of ceramic clams are lining the hallways of Miller Center for Humanities for two weeks this month. The creation of self-proclaimed ceramics enthusiast Andrew Merriam ’10, the clam installation has been confronting passersby since Monday, March 10th.

This spring, the Hoffman Gallery of Contemporary Art will feature the work of 19 graduating art majors. The 2010 Senior Art Exhibition represents the culmination of the work created during the students’ senior year across a variety of disciplines—ceramics, drawing, graphic arts, painting, photography, and sculpture.
A semester long project that brings together a group of Lewis and Clark students with Village Gardens, a civically minded organization in Portland, to collaboratively engage an issue pertinent to that community. Students will work with Village Gardens to design a series of ceramic wares to be implemented in an event that brings awareness to the issues identified in this partnership.
