         Help write, edit, or illustrate L&C’s student newspaper.

  • Palatine Hill Review  
    An annual collection of student-written poetry and prose. Students of all majors are encouraged to submit work.  Students may also help edit the review by serving on the board. Contact lcreview@lclark.edu
  • Library Archives  
    Internships are periodically available in Watzek Library’s archives.

Off-Campus Opportunities

The department encourages students to seek internships with Portland companies and organizations, including:

  • Literary Arts

    Supports Oregon writers through fellowships and grants, and connects writers to the community through lecture series and the Writers in Schools program.

  • Portland Jewish Museum 

    A museum dedicated to Jewish history and culture, located in Portland’s OldTown.

  • Portland Monthly
    A magazine devoted to Portland news, culture, and lifestyle. Internship guidelines here.
  • Prichard Communications
    Presented to students who are interested in working at a small, professional Portland public relations and communications agency that values teamwork, entrepreneurship and social justice.
  • Tin House
    Produces a literary magazine, publishes books, and runs the annual Tin House Summer Writer’s Workshop 
  • Wieden+ Kennedy
    An independent, creatively-driven advertising agency. Email jobs@wk.com.
  • Willamette Weekly
     A newspaper featuring Portland news, politics, culture, and events.
  • Write Around Portland
     Provides free writing workshops to people of all ages.
