Art Show
44th Annual Gender Studies Symposium
[No Hard Feelings]
March 5–7, 2025
The Gender Studies Symposium Art Exhibit is on display in the Watzek Library atrium from March 5-21.
Curated by Mayah Brasse ’26, Ren Crenshaw ’28, and Rebeka Kerék ’27.
Curatorial statement:
This year’s art exhibition is an offering to explore the terrain of feelings around gender and sexuality, growing from the personal, which is also profoundly political, into the landscape of collective emotions. Through deeply evocative works, the featured art disrupts, and reimagines, what are considered “hard feelings.” This art urges us to engage in feeling as not as passive or private, but as an active, communal act—one that has the power to foster resistance, healing, and change. As Ismatu Gwendolyn says, “Some infinities are smaller than others, but this world that I have, and I can touch with my hands blooms over and over and over again.” Similarly, we invite you to join us in this space of small infinity, to engage with these worlds around us. We encourage you to feel together, let them touch you, and reimagine all the possibilities that can bloom from this interaction.”
