Performance Attendance Requirements

Beginning in Fall 2023, 10% of each music major’s primary lesson grade will be concert attendance. In order to receive the full 10% each semester, majors must attend:

  • Two premier series performances (please see below for a list of premier performances)
  • One ensemble performance that they’re not performing in
  • One instructor-assigned performance. If your instructor does not assign a specific performance, you can attend one of your choice.

Only LC music department performances count toward this requirement (i.e. you cannot fulfill the requirement by attending a symphony performance, though your major instructor may still require you to.) Concerts that you perform in do not count toward the requirement.

You can find a full list of music department concerts here. All concerts are free - just remember to bring your ID!

During each performance, Stage Crew will post QR codes for you to scan on your way out so that the department can verify your attendance. If the concert is in Evans Music Center, the code will be posted on the main office door (Evans 126); if the concert is in the chapel, the code will be posted on the table in the foyer. All you have to do is enter your name into the form that the QR code takes you to. If you forgot to scan the code, you can drop off a program from the concert at the music office.
