Internships and Practica
Portland offers great opportunities for field learning, in all sorts of areas—media production, advertising, public relations, human resources, public opinion research, and a lot more. Academic credit is awarded to RHMS majors for supervised internships that apply what students have learned in their RHMS coursework.
Department majors regularly receive listserv notices about internship and practicum opportunities. The Lewis & Clark Career Center also maintains listings. Upon securing an internship, students should identify a member of the RHMS faculty with whom they have taken relevant coursework and then work with that faculty member to complete an Internship/Practicum Learning Agreement. The agreement must be completed and submitted to the registrar’s office before the internship or practicum begins.
