Committee Charge:
The Committee on Enrollment and Student Experience shall review and inform the faculty about issues of enrollment, including recruitment and admissions, financial aid and retention. It will also consider aspects of student experience, both inside and outside of the classroom, that relate to the educational process and students’ ability to succeed at Lewis & Clark.
The committee will work in partnership with the Dean of the College (or other faculty governance committees as appropriate), the Vice President of Admissions and Financial Aid, the Vice President of Student Life, and/or the President to identify and recommend policy, procedure, and co-curricular programming pertaining to enrollment and student success.
The Committee on Enrollment and Student Experience shall coordinate faculty support of the College’s enrollment initiatives, and shall provide faculty representation on major enrollment committees constituted by the College. The Committee may designate a substitute to represent the faculty if no current committee member can attend.
Committee Membership:
The Committee on Enrollment shall consist of five members of the voting Faculty and one student. The three divisions shall each have one representative, elected by the entire voting faculty, and two members shall be elected at large. Representatives from the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid, First Year Experience, and College Advising shall serve as ex officio members.

Curriculum Committee Subcommittees
CPSC -Course Proposal Subcommittee: Charged with evaluating incoming course proposals and making recommendations to the full Curriculum Committee about whether the proposal should be accepted, rejected or discussed by the full Curriculum Committee. The CPSC examines courses to verify that they further the goals of the college and departments in providing a rigorous educational experience in keeping with the liberal arts tradition.
SCA - Subcommittee on Curriculum Assessment: Responsible for facilitating assessment of the CAS curriculum.
SPAS - Subcommittee on Petitions, Appeals & Student Designed Majors: Responsible for reviewing any appeals for student status in partnership with the Registrar’s Office and for reviewing any student designed majors

Faculty and Staff Development Fund
Library and Educational Technology Faculty and Staff Development Fund Proposal
The fund is managed by the Library and Educational Technology Committee and is intended to support exploration and innovation within CAS in the following areas:
- The application of technology to enhance teaching or research;
- The use or creation of information resources to support teaching or research;
- Approaches to teaching information literacy, digital literacy or other types of advanced digital skills within the curriculum.
- Textbook affordability including the use of Open Educational Resources.
The committee will solicit proposals in the spring semester for the following fiscal year (June-May). The committee will then solicit proposals in the fall for the remaining funds available for the current fiscal year. After a proposal is submitted, the Library and Educational Technology Committee will rank the proposals and recommend funding. Recipients will be expected to fill out a brief form detailing the outcomes of their funding by the following September. They will also be asked to participate in the Faculty Technology Showcase held each year to demonstrate and discuss the outcomes of their project.
