Tools of the trade. -
Here a student is in the layout stage. She is marking the material for drilling and taping. -
This student, Ryan, is using a tool called a die. This tool creates external thread on the shaft of the handle. Then you can screw it into the head and the handle. -
Another look at a student drilling out the hole for the shaft. -
Lab master, Steve, is showing a student how to properly use a tap to create internal thread on the handle. -
A student is trying her best tap the handle of the hammer. This will create the internal threads for the shaft to affix to. -
This student is trying her hand at the lathe, adding a radius to the handle. -
