Internships for College Students & Recent Grads

We live in a richly diverse country. We believe our nation’s companies should reflect that. The Script works directly with local business leaders to create a stronger and more diversified workforce.

Through The Script Intern Program, talented people of color and lower-socioeconomic rural youth are given opportunities to grow and a pathway to leadership. Since 2016, we’ve placed over 500 interns into the business landscape, with many transitioning into full-time positions. A more inclusive, resilient, and productive labor force is the result.

Students can also choose to sign up to attend the next general The Script Internship Student Info Session via Zoom (registration required) to learn more about the program and process on Thursday, November 2nd at 5:30 p.m. (Pacific)

The Bates Center/Lewis & Clark has no formal affiliation with The Script but our students have participated in the past with great success.

Career Accelerator Fall 2025

Thanks to a generous donation from alumna Heidi Hu ’85, Lewis & Clark is expanding its Career development programs. The Bates Center and Career Center are launching new opportunities this fall to help students gain real-world experience and job ready skills.

The Career Accelerator is a game changing program designed to combine the power of a liberal arts education with technical, job-ready skills. Employers value critical thinking, adaptability, and communication, but they also look for technical skills and work experience. The Career Accelerator bridges this gap, helping students land competitive, mission driven jobs after graduation.

In mid-January, the Bates Center for Entrepreneurship and Leadership hosted its annual entrepreneurial workshop, known as Winterim. The event brought 27 students to campus prior to the start of spring semester for a week of learning, networking, and mentoring, which culminated in a pitch competition for more than $10,000 in prizes.
