100% Fulbright Success for LC’s German Program

The German Department is celebrating a remarkable achievement: every one of our Fulbright applicants to Germany this year received an award offer

October 23, 2025
German Studies majors Maggie Martin and Charley Booker were selected as Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) award winners, along with Logan Drain, Katya Schwieterman, and Gemma Goethe - all of whom studied German at LC.

This 100% success rate is a testament to the strength of Lewis & Clark’s German Studies program and the dedication of its students and faculty. The Fulbright ETA program places recent graduates in schools around the world to help teach English and promote cultural exchange.

“These results are extraordinary,” said Professor Therese Augst, chair of the Department of World Languages and Literatures. “It’s a wonderful reminder of how much our students accomplish and how language study can open doors to the world.”

Congratulations to Maggie, Charley, Logan, Katya, and Gemma on this outstanding honor and to the German Studies program for yet another year of global success!
