What’s your favorite class? How has it expanded your knowledge?

This is a tough question. I love my classes and professors. If I must pick, it has to be a tie: I loved my Exploration and Discovery class with Professor Susan Cohen. The theme was “Citizens of the World: Cosmopolitanism, Group Loyalty, and Individual Freedom.” The class made me question value of allegiance to any particular group, or mode of thought—in that sense, it was deeply troubling but immensely rewarding.

The second one is Calculus I with Professor Yung-Pin Chen. This class is the reason I minored in and will always love mathematics.

What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?

The college’s honesty and integrity—L&C is true about what it is and upholds the values it espouses.

How do you feel supported as an international student at Lewis & Clark?

We are one big family at Lewis & Clark, but when I walk into International Students and Scholars (ISS) Office, the feeling is even more special. I smile and share with the people there, and I know I can count on their support through any hardship.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

Come see it for yourself. You can’t help but fall in love with it!

What’s your favorite spot on campus?

Behind Corbett house on the graduate campus; it’s quiet and beautiful. One gets lost simultaneously in the whirlwinds of life and in the beauty of the moment.

What’s your favorite thing about living in Portland?

As hard as it may be to believe, the rain!
