Anton Andereggen, a native of Switzerland, joined the faculty of Lewis & Clark College in 1977. He received his PhD in French and Linguistics, with a concentration on Occitan Studies, from the University of Colorado.
He is the author of 5 books on issues related to Francophone Africa, to cultural and linguistic regions of southern France (Occitanie), and to personal and financial planning. His numerous articles have appeared in national and international professional journals such as Contemporary French Civilization; Peuples Noirs, Peuples Africains; Journal of Social, Political and Economic Studies; German Life and Letters; Population Today; International Social Science Review; French Review; Revue des Langues Romanes; Swiss-American Review.
He has led a Lewis & Clark overseas program in Strasbourg, France, where he taught French/Francophone courses at the Institut International d’Études Françaises, sponsored by the University of Strasbourg.
