What we’re looking for in board members

Alumni board members love Lewis & Clark College. While no single characteristic defines an ideal member of the board, we seek nominees who are high achieving and high-energy enthusiasts of the college. We seek alumni of the College of Arts and Sciences who have the drive, the focus, and the skills to contribute to the success of the board and the college.

It is important that our collective board membership reflect the richness of Lewis & Clark’s diverse student population and community.

The following are some of the attributes we’re looking for in board members:

High Achieving	Lewis & Clark Enthusiasts
Leaders of organizations Prominent in chosen field Community activists/service oriented Strong academic record Student government and athletic team leaders	Demonstrated desire to contribute Willingness to give personally and financially Motivated to recruit others to give to the college Have ideas for alumni projects Organizers of alumni events Continued connection with faculty, staff, and/or broad base of fellow alumni

Nominations for members beginning their term in Fall 2026 are due by February 28, 2026.

Next Steps:
In early March, all nominees will receive an email with a link to apply. To be considered for election, nominees must submit an online application, along with a cover letter and résumé or CV, to Alumni and Parent Engagement by Monday, March 31, 2026.

The Board will hold elections at its summer meeting on in June, 2026.
