Field Trips
Supervised field trips are guided by faculty and Resident Advisors. In the past, class field trips during the week have included visits to the Portland Japanese Gardens, Portland Art Museum, Sauvie Island, Portland’s International Rose Test Garden, Oregon Museum of Science and Technology, Taylor Electric Portland Street Art, Tryon Creek State Natural Area, and the vibrant neighborhoods of Sellwood, Alberta Arts, Division Street, Mississippi Avenue, and Hawthorne Avenue.
During the middle weekend, outings include forays into downtown to browse Powell’s City of Books and a day-long trip to see the Pacific Ocean and explore the beautiful, rugged Oregon Coast.
When the Workshop is in session, faculty or Resident Advisors may lead shorter trips near campus, such as a hike through Tryon Creek State Natural Area or a stroll to the Graduate Campus fields at the top of Palatine Hill.
