11th Annual Symposium: Migration and Motion in the Middle East
Join us for an engaging symposium exploring the complex dynamics of migration and movement across the MENA region. This student-led event will bring together scholars, activists, and workshop leaders to examine the forces shaping migration, displacement, and mobility in the Middle East and North Africa. From the impact of conflict and climate change to economic opportunities and border policies, we will dive into the causes and consequences of migration in this pivotal region. Guiding questions include:
- How have global powers influenced migration patterns and policies in the MENA region?
- What role does migration play in the dynamic cultural exchange?
- How do the countries people migrate to facilitate inclusion or fail to do so?
- What is entailed in the journey of migration? What is the experience of migrants?
Through panels, discussions, and interactive sessions, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of the human stories behind migration and explore solutions for a more just and equitable future. Please join us for the opportunity to be part of the conversation on one of the most pressing global issues today.
