Honoring Black History Month through the Sciences
Students enrolled in CHEM 330 during Fall 2022 present their research in the poster exhibit “We are all the same, but we are all different”. In collaboration with Dr. Jean-Philippe Gourdine, Mia Hernandez ’23 discusses the Diversity of Human Hair & Methods of Categorization, and Lara Koyshman ’23 and Maryam Al-Ghezi ’23 present on Tracing Human Migrations with the Microbiome, in and out of Africa. The posters will be on display in the Watzek Library atrium through March 3.

The future of scientific discovery is interwoven within the long context of human inquiry. In this talk, Dr. Albert discusses how he supports his scientific curiosity by working with rare books, and making his own work part of the story of science.
Dr. Albert’s research focuses on the treatment and prevention of ocular cancers. He has held numerous academic appointments at Penn Med, Yale, Harvard and OHSU and has been involved in medical student teaching and staff training since 1969. Beyond his scientific credentials, Dr Albert has taught in the history of science.
Chemistry is located in Olin Center on the Undergraduate Campus.
