JahAsia Jacobs, ’20, has won the 2020 SEA Harold K. Schneider Student Paper Prize in Economic Anthropology.  JahAsia’s paper was selected as the winning entry in the undergraduate category:

JahAsia Jacobs, ’20, will present her paper virtually at the annual meeting in 2021. The meeting’s theme will be Landscapes of Value/Economies of Place.  

The paper is entitled:

“I don’t think a life without debt is possible”: Navigating Student Indebtedness, Restrictive Temporalities, and Embodied Debility among Lewis & Clark College Alumni.

Community Builder Wins College’s Highest Honor

Azucena Lizbeth Morales Santos BA ’24, who double-majored in Hispanic studies and sociology/anthropology, received this spring’s Rena J. Ratte Award, the undergraduate college’s highest honor. Named for an esteemed professor, the award recognizes a senior whose abilities and commitment have combined to produce work of the highest distinction.
