Come Join the Fun on Day of Giving March 5!

We’re celebrating the 10th annual Day of Giving on March 5!

Take advantage of the dry weather (we think!) and plan to join us outside for a full range of activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

You can:

* Grab a free cookie and apple (first come, first served!) kindly donated from Bon Appetit;

* Play traditional board games like Jenga and Connect 4;

* Enjoy some movement on the lawn with games and crafts such as Cornhole and Chalk Art;

* Check out invigorating student art on the art wall;

* Spin the wheel for L&C swag and other awesome prizes;

* Try a coffee drink from the Co-op’s pay-what-you-can coffee cart;

* Dance and sway to a student band called “What’s Her Face,” scheduled for 2 to 3 p.m. on the Stewart-Odell Annex Residence lawns;

* See what student clubs are up to and how you can get involved (JR Howard lawns and Fowler lobby from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the Stewart-Odell Annex Resident lawns from 2 to 3 p.m.); 

* And, of course, for Day of Giving, there will be an opportunity to make a gift in support of student scholarships, academic programs, career opportunities, and more!

Day of Giving is an annual fundraising event to fuel student success, support inspiring faculty, and celebrate the lifelong impact of an L&C education at the undergraduate college, graduate school, and law school.

This year, we’re pulling out all the stops to honor the people who make this place extraordinary: our alumni, faculty, staff, and students!

How You Can Help

• Find an area of need close to your heart on Day of Giving and make a gift of any size. Your gift counts if you contribute early, or are already a monthly/recurring donor! If you’d like to set up a payroll deduction, you can do so now and it will count toward the challenge. Click here to get started. Check out the list of extra incentives below to maximize your impact!
• Share a Lewis & Clark social media post on your favorite personal social media page, tagging #LCDayofGiving, and encouraging family and friends to give.
• Wear orange and black on March 5 to show your L&C pride. 
• Watch our progress online on March 5 (using the buttons above) and cheer us on!
• Stay tuned for more information about day of campus fun!

  Many departments have challenges of their own, including:

  
  
  • Dean Bruce Suttmeier, who is matching all gifts from College of Arts & Sciences Academic Division faculty and staff $1 to $1, up to $1000. And if 90 donors give any amount, Bruce will donate an additional $500.
  
  
  • Vice President for Student Life Evette Castillo Clark, who is matching gifts of $25 or more, up to $500 total, from Student Life staff. If 20 or more Student Life staff donate on Day of Giving, Evette will throw The Great Pizza Break, a pizza party to honor all Student Life staff.
  
  
  • Vice President for Advancement Josh Walter, who is hosting a lunch party and professional massages for the entire Advancement team if 100% participation is reached.
  
  
  • Chief Financial Officer and Vice President Operations Andrea Dooley will match all gifts from staff in the Finance Department $1 to $1, up to $1,500 total.
  
  
  • Dean Scott Fletcher will match all gifts from Graduate School faculty and staff dollar for dollar, up to $2,000.
  
  
  • Vice President of Admissions & Financial Aid Eric Staab will match all gifts from Admissions and Financial Aid staff $1 to $1, up to $1,000.
  
  

  And …

  
  The One L&C Engagement Committee is promising a day of doughnuts for all three campuses if 300 faculty and staff from the undergraduate, graduate, and law schools combined make a gift on Day of Giving!
