November 13 is Thank A Donor Day at Lewis & Clark! This campus-wide celebration is dedicated to recognizing the extraordinary impact of every gift, large and small made by our generous community of supporters. From essential student scholarships to unique experiential learning opportunities, our donors are the driving force behind the L&C experience.

This day is a chance for students, faculty, and staff, to pause and appreciate the generosity that fuels our mission. Hundreds of students write messages of gratitude on postcards which are sent to donors throughout the year. To add to the festive atmosphere, the Student Philanthropy Council gives away free donuts to anyone who shares a message of gratitude.

The L&C community has a lot to be grateful for this fall. In September, the Alumni Challenge demonstrated the incredible spirit of our graduates: 307 alumni donors raised $41,244 to support current students, and secured an additional $20,000 in matching funds from the Board of Alumni. On October 29, Day of Champions was a victory for our athletics programs, raising $406,964 from 2,015 dedicated friends, family, and fans of L&C student-athletes. And we would be remiss not to highlight the critical generosity of our Parents’ Fund donors, whose gifts are providing the flexible, unrestricted support that allows L&C to respond immediately to student needs.

The impact of our donors can be seen most clearly in the lives of our students. Support for financial aid ensures that a Lewis & Clark education remains accessible to students regardless of their economic background. The numbers tell a powerful story:

  • 97% of Lewis & Clark undergraduates receive some form of financial assistance.
  • Last year, the College distributed over $86 million in institutional financial aid.
  • The average financial aid package for a full-time undergraduate student was $55,835.

The commitment and collective action of our community ensures that current and future L&C students can continue to explore their passions, discover their purpose, and make a meaningful impact on the world. We look forward to celebrating you on Thank A Donor Day!
