What three words would you use to describe L&C?
What was your favorite class? How did it expand your knowledge?
Exploration and Discovery on World War I, The War to End All Wars, by Professor David Campion. Professor Campion expanded my thinking on what war looks like and what it means for different groups of people to be at war. He encouraged us to think more critically about all aspects of war from the economy, women’s rights, contemporary art, and science. Professor Campion expanded my knowledge.
Who is your mentor on campus? Why do you consider this person your mentor?
My mentor is Ellen Seljan. Ellen has been so kind and challenges my thinking in political science. She is always willing to listen to me and answer all of my questions.
“The liberal arts promote being well rounded in a variety of subjects and thinking critically about the world.”
What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?
The small class size really appealed to me because it would force me to connect with my professors. I also was attracted to the swim team, as I have been a swimmer for most of my life.
How do you describe the liberal arts?
The liberal arts promote being well rounded in a variety of subjects and thinking critically about the world.
If you have studied or will study overseas while at Lewis & Clark, how did you choose your program? What did your overseas study add to your L&C experience so far?
I will be studying in Sapporo, Japan in Fall 2020. I chose this program because I want to continue my studies in Japanese and live with a host family.
