The Admissions Fellows at Lewis & Clark College are highly dedicated and involved students who serve a professional role within the admissions process. Their leadership responsibilities include interviewing prospective students, supervising student ambassadors, coordinating campus visits, and planning open houses and events. The Fellows are eager to share their L&C experiences with you!
Why I chose Lewis & Clark: Growing up in Portland, I knew I couldn’t leave the beautiful Pacific Northwest. When I toured LC, I fell in love with how close I could be to nature, how friendly everyone was, and the sheer amount of clubs and fun events that happen every day. As a first-generation college student, LC helped me finally envision what college could look like: an interdisciplinary education, professors who really know me, and a space that prepares us for a creative career.
Favorite spot on campus: I’m biased as a Resident Advisor, but I love my dorm hall…especially the grass between Platt and Howard, and just up the hill from Copeland + the bridge to the academic side of campus. When the lilacs are in bloom, bands are practicing in the Platteau, and the ceramics studio is in use with the kiln humming, the space is magical.
Favorite spot in Portland: An even tie! I love Portal Tea, a classic study spot built into a train car that the LC shuttle brings us to. But if you want a longer adventure into Portland, grab doughnuts or ice cream from Doe Donuts (they’re fully vegan with crazy flavors every month) and visit the Hollywood Theater for a good film.

I love penguins & LEGO so much that I once designed a LEGO penguin out of clay, sent my mock-up to the brand, and it got made into a real minifigure.
I’m the art club social media manager, and experiment with over two dozen mediums. I’m currently teaching myself to animate, and a few of my favorite musicians have seen my work!
Why I chose Lewis & Clark: I toured LC with my dad just to see what a liberal arts campus felt like. I took one step out of the car and told my dad, “This is the place.” He said I was being dramatic and only liked the school because of how pretty it was. We took a guided tour, which solidified my belief that Lewis & Clark was the right school. I have always been the type of person to make long pros and cons lists, but for some reason, I just knew L&C was going to be the right school for me. I convinced my parents to let me apply Early Decision by highlighting the amazing classes, connections, and opportunities the school would offer, but it was that gut feeling that ultimately made my decision.
Favorite spot on campus: I love the graduate campus. It’s secluded from the main college, making it a great place to lie out on the lawn. I have spent hours lying in the sun doing homework, journaling, and talking with friends while watching bees from the SEED’s (Students Engaged in Eco-Defense) nearby bee garden. The graduate campus also connects to trails that wind through Tryon Creek State Park, another great place to destress.
Favorite spot in Portland:The nearby waterfront park is an amazing spot for dinners with friends. I have a regular habit of picking up poke from a nearby restaurant, then diving down to the Willamette waterfront to enjoy the meal and time with friends.
Why I chose Lewis & Clark: Before moving back to Hawai’i this past May, I was living in the D.C. Metropolitan area for two years! During my time on the East Coast, I participated in a unique college application process through the Posse Foundation. I was very simple in my thinking process and ranked Lewis & Clark as my top choice mainly due to proximity to home and because the photos of the campus looked beautiful. I’ve grown to love LC for the mentorship institutionally ingrained in the liberal arts education, and for all the opportunities for leadership and growth available at our small school.
Favorite spot on campus: The Office of Inclusion and Multicultural Engagement. I love to sit in the office to either study, engage in serious conversations to learn about different perspectives, or have fun with the numerous weekly activities they host! Catch me this year as a GEM Mentor!
Favorite spot in Portland: All the concert venues in Portland. There’s Moda Center, Holocene, Crystal Ballroom, Wonder Ballroom, and more! Living here gives students so many opportunities to experience live music for cheap. In just October of my first semester I went to four concerts!

I tell my tours to stop for a minute so I can catch my breath.
My favorite part of Admitted Student Programs is lunch hosting because I love to eat. (Catch me with a cowboy hat!)
Why I chose Lewis & Clark: I chose Lewis and Clark for its beauty and the liberal arts education! Having a well-rounded and fulfilling education is best supported by being able to find a spot on campus to do your homework next to a family of ducks or find reprieve under a blossoming tree.
Favorite spot on campus: My favorite place on campus is the Estate Gardens. I had so much fun being snowed in on campus, building snowmen, and playing snowball fights, surrounded by the tall trees. I also love the Estate Gardens when it is 80 degrees, and no clouds are blocking the view of Mount Hood. No matter the season, the Estate Gardens are beautiful, a place for gathering, and our own little oasis on campus.
Favorite spot in Portland: My favorite place in Portland is The Grotto, which is a Catholic church with a beautiful outdoor sanctuary. Even if you’re not religious, it is a good place to think and reflect.
Why I chose Lewis & Clark: Mountains! Yes, college outdoors and study abroad programs strongly are in the 2nd and 3rd places, but a very significant factor why I chose this college was Mount Hood. In Lithuania, we do not have mountains, the highest hill is 960 ft! (Almost) every day, to see Mount Hood, is a blessing to me, because I have never had access to this view back home. Another reason why I chose LC was because of its population. It is a small school and I love it. I think that because it is a small school, to this day, I am finding new little details regarding campus, people or library (there’s a Lithuanian photography exhibition in the Watzek Library!). And it is not that small - there’s still people I do not know, but the small number allowed me to grow closer to my supervisors, professors and friends. All of this combined gave me a place which I can call a second home!
Favorite spot on campus: The reflecting pool and the area of the Frank Manor House. I love that side of campus. If you think that it is impossible to study in front of the sun while looking directly at Mount Hood, think otherwise, because at LC it is possible!
Favorite spot in Portland: Sellwood Riverfront park! I am able to enjoy the Willamette River and the Portland hills at the same time! And who does not love a good picnic with your friends at the beach? (Definitely not me!)

There will always, always be ice cream in my freezer!

Why I chose Lewis & Clark: My feeling of belonging at Lewis & Clark began before I was ever a student here, but actually during my application process, and that drove my decision to attend this school. Lewis & Clark was the most present and supportive school during my application and decision process, always checking in, sending useful information, and offering guidance when I was a little lost in the process. I made my decision to attend LC on decision day, but my mind was made up months before. I chose to come here because I felt community and a friend in my admissions counselor, in the current students wanting to offer help, and in all the staff and faculty that represented the school and made me feel like more than a number in a large pool of applicants. On a simpler note though, the beauty of this campus and life around it was so remarkable, I knew I needed to spend my higher education in a physical environment that would support me as well!
Favorite spot on campus: My favorite spot on campus is the little circle with benches above the window of the Dovecote (Or, simpler said, circle benches in Albany Quadrangle). It is the cutest little spot, and while it’s in a nice area to see nature and people, it also offers a bit of privacy. I love being in close proximity to our tiny cafe on campus while also having all the greenery, rose bushes, and former stables to look at. It is one of the prettiest spots on our campus, but also makes one forget they’re even on a college campus.
Favorite spot in Portland: My favorite spot in Portland is the Ice Creamery in Lake Oswego. It’s the cutest little spot with the BEST ice cream, banana splits, and breakfast food! I love going there on a warm day, seeing all the families and elderly go in, and walking to Foothills Park or to the waterfront with my friends and a little sweet treat!
