What’s your favorite class? Why?
My favorite class was Medicine, Healing, and Culture taught by Professor Sepideh Bajracharya. It was a truly incredible class and I would recommend it to everyone. The class truly changed how I viewed the process of healing and its relation to the Western biomedical industry. We read so many amazing works, and I am so grateful to have taken the class.
What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?
I wanted to come to Lewis & Clark because of the surrounding outdoors. Lewis & Clark’s proximity to Mt. Hood and incredible rivers drew me to the college. I also didn’t realize how much it rained.
What do you like or find most interesting about your major?
I really enjoy solving problems and the logic involved in math.
Tell us about the upcoming Middle East and North African Studies Symposium. What has your experience as a cochair been like? How does this event complement your academic experience?
I have never organized an event like this, so the mere experience of creating the symposium has been an extraordinary experience. There are so many minute details that I never thought of beforehand. It’s been amazing to see everything come together over the last semesters. At the beginning I had no idea what the symposium would look like, but now that we are so close to the event it’s really coming together. I am really excited to see folks present and to learn more.
