Kapamilya Filipino Student Club

Kapamilya hopes to create an inclusive environment for Filipino identifying students
to share and discuss Filipino culture and experiences as students and individuals at LC and
beyond. We recognize there are barriers many people face to interacting with their culture
and aim to cultivate a community on campus in which Filipino students of all backgrounds
are able to connect with and learn about their culture, as well as educate and learn from
each other. We hope to share and celebrate Filipino culture with non Filipino students and
bridge community gaps that have kept people from unity and solidarity among ourselves.
Furthermore, in recognizing the intersectionality of our membership, their needs, and
culture, we value community care and encourage engagement with other groups or causes
outside of what we immediately know and provide.
