Chabad on Campus

Our mission is to create an inclusive environment for Jewish students and to provide Jewish community, education, and experiences for students at Lewis & Clark. Central to our mission is the commitment to providing students with a “Jewish home away from home.” Given that Judaism is deeply rooted in family and communal observance, Chabad on Campus seeks to offer students a connection to these traditions, especially for those who are far from their families. We will facilitate opportunities for students to celebrate their Judaism in a uniquely familial setting. This approach is designed to foster a distinctive sense of belonging and community among students.

We will focus on making experiential Judaism accessible to all Jewish students, while welcoming participation from non-Jewish students who are interested. We will provide opportunities for students to participate in Torah learning and Mitzvah rituals. These experiences are designed to be inclusive and accessible to all students, regardless of their level of Jewish knowledge, while fully adhering to Jewish Law to ensure that even the most observant Orthodox students will feel comfortable and welcomed, which is a defining aspect of this student organization.
