German Club

We aim to enrich the cultural diversity on campus by providing activities and
events related to German culture. Through said events we support the German
Studies Department in their mission to teach language and culture. Our priority
is to make events enjoyable and accessible, so that students have more
extracurricular opportunities related to their academic learning.

A secondary function of our events is to provide opportunities for German
students to collect “Culture Credits.” This is a loosely defined term created by
the German Studies Department to encourage students to attend on or off
campus events related to the German culture in some way. Said Culture Credits
have historically counted toward students’ participation grade in selected
classes. Termination of the use of Culture Credits by the German Department
should not affect our club’s mission.
