Favorite spot on campus:  The Blackbox in Fir Acres Theater! I had dance rehearsals there when I was a student and I made so many good memories laughing and creating with my friends.

Little-known fact about me:   I am a circus artist and I’ve been training and performing a slew of different disciplines since I was a kid. I love the intersection of art and movement and circus is the perfect balance of both for me!

Piece of advice for students in the college search process:   Know that your college search process is your own. You don’t have to follow the same path that you’ve seen others take, or consider things that others find important. Take some time to identify what YOU are excited about, and even if the way you get there is nontraditional, try to be authentic to what you are looking for.

Favorite place to spend time in Portland:   While Powell’s Books in downtown Portland gets a lot of hype, my favorite bookstore is actually in Sellwood, called Wallace Books. It’s in a converted old house and the walls are covered from floor to ceiling with books. It has a magically old timey book shop vibe and I highly recommend checking it out if you like books (and frankly, it’s cool even if you don’t like books)!

If I was stranded on a desert island, I would want these three things:

1. Juggling balls to keep myself entertained
2. An iron skillet
3. While they’d probably sleep most of the time, which wouldn’t be particularly helpful, I would need to bring my two cats

If I didn’t work in Admissions, I would be:  I actually spend a few evenings a week directing a youth performance company at a circus school here in Portland, so I feel lucky to get the best of both worlds! So with that in mind, I would be working full time teaching cartwheels!
