Replacement Diploma and/or Notarized Diploma

The College of Arts and Sciences, in collaboration with Parchment ordering services, provides graduates with both a printed paper diploma and (beginning in 2024) a digital diploma.  If you have lost your original diploma, you may order a replacement via Parchment Ordering services.

IMPORTANT! Always order your replacement diploma or notarized diploma to be sent directly to yourself.  You can share the digital diploma later, as many times as you want, and the shared digital diploma comes with a certificate of authenticity every time.  But if you send the original order to a third party, the third party become the owner of the document instead of you.  Do not place an order which sends your diploma to a third party.

Please proceed directly to the Lewis & Clark Diploma and Transcript Ordering Service. Follow the instructions to create an account, or log in to an existing account. You can find a short video about creating an account here. We strongly recommend that if you use your LC email to set up your account, that you also enter a personal email address. This will allow you to continue using the service even after your LC email address is deactivated.

What types of replacement or notarized products can I order on the Parchment site?

Replacement - Digital diploma only - $20

  • The digital diploma can be shared with a secure and verified link, and many countries recognize digital diplomas as an alternative to an apostille.
  • A digital diploma can be ordered even if you did not previously receive a digital diploma.  (If you previously received a digital diploma, you do not need to order one.  You can retrieve it on the Parchment website at no cost.)

Replacement - Print and digital diploma - $50

  • The traditional embossed printed diploma replacement is suitable for framing and recognizes your achievement in obtaining your degree from Lewis & Clark College.
  • The digital diploma can be shared with a secure and verified link, and many countries recognize digital diplomas as an alternative to an apostille.

Replacement - Print diploma and digital diploma with a notarized copy - $65

  • Your replacement print diploma will be created and a notarized copy made.  Both the original print diploma and notarized copy will be mailed to you by US Postal Service and a tracking number will be provided to you.  Allow additional processing time - this request may take up to 3 weeks.  A digital diploma will also be made available.

  • Do not choose rush shipping when ordering a notarized diploma through parchment.  Rush shipping is not available for notarized diplomas.  If you choose rush shipping, your rush shipping fee will not be refunded by Parchment.
  • Please note that notarized copies of diplomas are typically only needed for an apostille for overseas employment or education.  If you do not intend to use the notarized copies for an apostille, your order can be processed more quickly and at reduced cost by using one of the options above.

Notarized copy of an existing diploma - $25  (this is not a replacement)

  • If you received your Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis & Clark in 2011 or later, we may have a copy of your original diploma on file and can make a notarized copy for you.
  • If you graduated prior to 2011, and have your original diploma, you will need to bring it, or mail it to the Registrar’s office.  Our office will contact you when the order is received to make arrangements to have you send your diploma to us.
  • Please note – if you need to change the name originally recorded on your diploma, you may not use this option. You must order a replacement diploma instead.
  • Do not choose rush shipping when ordering a notarized diploma through parchment. Rush shipping is not available for notarized diplomas. If you choose rush shipping, your rush shipping fee will not be refunded by Parchment.

How long will my order take?

Replacement diplomas are typically created within two weeks.  Allow additional processing time for high volume periods such as the beginning or end of the semester, or after degrees have been awarded.  Requests for notarization may take slightly longer.
