Science Scholars Earn Prestigious NSF Recognition
Two recent alumni have been awarded National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships and a third has received an honorable mention—national recognition that reflects the strength of faculty-mentored undergraduate research at Lewis & Clark.
Finn Watson Wins College’s Highest Honor
Finn Watson BA ’26, who majored in biochemistry and molecular biology, received the 2026 Rena J. Ratte Award, the undergraduate college’s highest honor. Named for an esteemed professor, the award recognizes a senior whose abilities and commitment have combined to produce work of the highest distinction.

Global Health Speaker: Women’s Health in Kenya, Burundi and Malawi
Dr Teresa Gipson is a Global Health leader with deep experience working with NGOs and her own organization in Kenya, Burundi, and Malawi. Teresa’s experience starting her own women’s health org in Kenya and recent work to open a maternity hospital in Burundi.
Global Health Panel: Humanitarian Aid in Sudan
Dr. Khidir Dalouk and Dr Yassir Yousif Elamin of the Sudanese American Physicians’ Association in a panel on the topic of humanitarian aid in Sudan. Guests will speak about their time on the front lines providing medical aid, the current situation of the war, and the role of mutual aid in building peace.
