Equity, Inclusion & Justice

The Equity, Inclusion, & Justice Committee (EIJC) is a student-run organization that exists to support historically underrepresented student groups, advocate for equitable practices on campus, conduct equity audits on policies and organizations, respond and make proactive efforts toward preventing hate and bias-related incidents, as well as protect and promote the diversity of identities and ideologies on campus.

As of Fall 2024, EIJC meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:40 PM - 5:40 PM

EIJC is tasked with:

  • Redistributing funds toward the emergent needs of marginalized groups and equity-related initiatives
  • Ensuring equitable policy changes are made on-campus
  • Protecting / promoting diverse identities and ideologies on campus
  • Preventing / responding to hate and bias-related incidents

EIJC is composed of General Council Members that serve as anonymous, communicative outlets for members of the student community. These General Council Members shall serve as liaisons between the EIJC and the Lewis & Clark community, provide feedback to the EIJC detailing student comments, concerns, and experiences as they relate to the responsibilities of the EIJC, collect, retain, and distribute information about resources pertaining to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice offered both on and off-campus, be available to all students wishing to contact them regarding their official duties via email, office hours, or another chosen method, and initiate contact with recognized student affinity groups on campus and provide support.
