For Community Partners
Our work relies on strong partnerships with nonprofits and community organisations that serve as co-educators for our students. Below are several ways your organisation can partner with us to support meaningful service and learning experiences:
1. Host a service learning project as part of a large scale service day.
Engage 15+ L&C volunteers in meaningful volunteer service and learning activities that meet community identified needs for 3 hours as part of New Student Orientation or our Martin Luther King, Jr. Week celebration.
2. Host ongoing volunteer projects (weekly or monthly).
Engage 3+ L&C volunteers in meaningful volunteer service and learning activities that meet community identified needs (at least 1 hour per session/shift). Please contact leadserve@lclark.edu if you are interested in this opportunity.
3. Connect with New Student Trip participants.
Each year L&C coordinates two Portland based overnight service learning trips for new students. Please contact outdoors@lclark.edu if you are interested in this opportunity.
4. Present a Leadership Education workshop.
Engage L&C students in learning activities related leadership competencies such as effective community building strategies, trauma informed care practices or asset based community development tactics. Please contact leadserve@lclark.edu if you are interested in this opportunity.
