What’s your favorite class? Why?
Social Theory with Assistant Professor Sepideh Bajracharya is easily the best class I’ve ever taken. I left the class with more than knowledge about social theory in the academic sense—I came away with personal life lessons that I know I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I will never be able to thank her enough for that.
What made you want to come to Lewis & Clark?
The small size and the beautiful campus.
What do you like or find most interesting about your major?
I appreciate that the sociology and anthropology major emphasizes learning about and from life experiences very different from my own. I didn’t realize how narrow my thinking was until I began expanding my perspective and practicing intersectionality.
Tell us about your support systems and social outlets on campus: people, activities, clubs, res halls, etc.
I do not and have historically not felt supported on this campus.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
Join extracurriculars.
Have you been involved with one of our symposia, as an organizer or participant? What was the experience like? How did the event complement your academic experience?
Working on the Gender Studies Symposium has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I feel so lucky to have gotten to play a part in bringing together such a meaningful and informative event.
