Akin Residence Hall

Akin houses up to 85 students on two floors in double occupancy rooms. The rooms are carpeted and contain walk-in closets and movable furniture. Each floor has a large lounge and kitchen. In the main lounge, you can often find students chatting around a cozy fire, cooking delicious food, or playing the grand piano.

The residents of Akin say that the advantages of this hall include its large comfortable rooms, its location on campus, and the sense of community provided by the people who choose to live here.

Akin residents take advantage of the daily opportunity to honor and explore our exciting and diverse cultural identities. As home to the Social Change Living-Learning Community (LLC), our mission in Akin Hall is to foster connection, engage in self-reflection, and participate in ongoing dialogue surrounding inclusion, equity, advocacy, and community change through service. In collaboration with students, staff, and faculty, we work to educate and to be educated by one another. Akin Hall seeks to enrich the experience of the student body and the Lewis & Clark community by promoting intercultural understanding and celebration. Learn more about the Social Change LLC.
