Platt-Howard Residence Hall
Platt-Howard is a centrally-located residence hall comprised of both continuing students and new first year students. It is a small, tight-knit community with special appreciation for arts and language, and it is open to any LC student regardless of major or interests. The Platt-Howard residential staff have hosted events such as movie screenings, game nights, crafting, dance parties, and a wide variety of other programs reflecting our residents’ unique hobbies and passions.
Platt-Howard Halls are comprised of double rooms, overflow triple rooms, and a few quad rooms. All furniture is movable and all beds are twin-XL.
Platt houses the Platteau, a student-run art center with ceramics studio, photography lab, music practice room, dance studio, and common space for performances, painting, and other artistic pursuits. The Platteau is open to all LC students and they can be reached at platteau@lclark.edu.
Platt West houses the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Living Learning Community (LLC), a place where members of the floor embrace all forms of artistic expression, including writing, painting, drawing, dancing, playing musical instruments, singing, acting, or exploring previously uncharted artistic territory. Learn more about VAPA here.
Howard is home to the Global Languages and Cultures (GLC) Living Learning Community, a place where residents learn and practice Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish while also exploring international relations and cultures.
