On-Campus Storage

We offer on-campus storage during the academic year and the summer! Students are welcome to apply for storage between September - May if they are in need of additional storage space or are studying overseas.

As of 4/15/25 we are pausing our acceptance of On-Campus Student Storage due to the volume of applications we have received.  We will open the application if we have more storage spaces to offer.

Eligibility

  • Students must be an undergraduate Lewis & Clark College student.
  • Students withdrawing, taking a leave of absence, or graduating from the institution may NOT store any personal items in College owned storage rooms.

Cost

Non-Pell and non-Davis Scholars - $30/month assessed to your student account.
Pell Eligible, Davis Scholars, and Next Genius Scholars - $20/month assessed to your student account.

To Apply

Apply for On-Campus Storage

Applications for students studying overseas during the Spring 2025 semester who need storage from December 2024 - August 2025 should complete their application before December 13th, 2024.

Applications for Summer 2025 storage (May 2025-August 2025) will be reviewed in April 2025. Submissions will be reviewed in the order received. Please submit applications by May 5, 2025 for priority review; applications received after May 5th for use before or on May 11th will also be charged a $25 expedited processing fee.

Restrictions

  • All storage is in the apartment storage cages. Apartment area storage lockers are approximately 4x4x3 feet; storage cannot exceed one locker per resident.
  • All items placed in lockers must be boxed and clearly marked with an official label. A bicycle can be stored if it is inside the locker. Furniture, other than what will fit inside a storage cage, cannot be stored at any time. Food (even non-perishables) are not allowed to be stored in cages. Mini-fridges, de-thawed and empty of perishable food, are allowed.
  • Bicycles cannot be left in bike rooms in the residence halls during summer break or during participation in overseas or off-campus programs. Once the halls close, remaining bikes will be considered abandoned and be donated to a charitable organization.
  • Items prohibited in the residence handbook are not permitted in storage rooms. We recommend you take valuable items home with you rather than placing them in a storage cage.
  • Items left outside of storage cages will be considered abandoned property and will be disposed of.  Students will also be charged $25 for the removal and disposal of these items.

Access and Security

  • Students approved for storage will need to make an appointment to access their storage cage. Students will be permitted to check-out a tap card to access their cage for two hours at a time. Students who need additional time must request this with our office in advance.
  • All storage cages have a lock and lock code that will be provided to approved storage users. Personal locks are not permitted on our storage cages.
  • All personal goods placed in storage area must be removed within ten days of your return to campus. If you require access to your storage space, you must make an appointment with the Campus Living Office in the Odell Annex. Please provide at least 24-hours notice.

Liability

  • Lewis & Clark does not assume liability for personal property, including theft, damage, or loss whether in storage or in a residence hall room.
  • Any item(s) left 30 days past your expected date of return will be disposed of or donated to charity.

Insurance coverage for your personal property is not provided by the College and is your responsibility.
